Our Why
At our core, we believe that financial literacy and personal growth are crucial components of a happy, fulfilling life. Unfortunately, many individuals and communities are facing significant barriers when it comes to accessing these resources and gaining the knowledge they need to succeed. In 2022, the U.S. Census Bureau estimated more than 15% of Kansas City locals are below the poverty line.
That's where Exceeds Expectations comes in.
As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, we are passionate about empowering people of all ages to take control of their financial futures and achieve their dreams. Whether it's through our dynamic youth programs, interactive workshops for adults, or access to our financial materials, we are committed to providing our communities with the tools they need to build a solid foundation for a lifetime of financial wellness. We partner with schools, community centers, and local organizations, where we are able to bring our programs and resources directly to those underserved and underrepresented, helping to build a brighter, more prosperous future for everyone.

We understand that financial literacy is not just about numbers and budgeting – it's about empowering individuals to make informed decisions, pursue their goals, and live their best lives. As Certified Mental Health First Aiders, we take a holistic approach that focuses not only on financial skills but financial psychology as well. We take the time to dig deep to uproot how your psychological makeup such as personality, goals, dreams, and emotions are impacting your attitude toward money. We aim to be that bridge offering or directing clients to mental health services such as therapy or counseling.
